Complex shots include banks, kicks, combos and caroms.
This month for First Friday we're going to be doing Pick Your Own Partner again. We'll also be doing a gimmick where at least every other shot during a given inning must be considered a "complex" shot in order for your team to continue at the table.
Here's some ground rules, but don't worry, I'll explain them in a much friendlier tone in person ;)
- You can start off your inning with either a complex shot or a straightforward shot
- "Straight in" is when the first object ball contacted goes untouched into its called pocket
- Your shot is only required to be complex if your partner just shot a straight in shot
- If you are _required_ to do a complex shot and you shoot the 8 straight in, you LOSE
- Rail-first is NOT considered a kick
- Off-the-rail-off-the-ball IS considered a carom
- Grazing a hanger before going into the correct pocket IS considered a carom
- Ultimately it is still call-pocket so you don't have to say how it gets there, but you have to at least graze something on the way to your called pocket or include a (nonadjacent) rail
- Calling "one-rail" then going three into your called pocket is considered tacky but LEGAL
